What's Been Happening
October 14, 2014
It's been a busy month for us at Revolution. We just helped out the O+ Fesitval with its first ever inclusion of bike rides as part of the weekend's festivities. After several weeks of meetings and cooperating with Kingston area bike and trail advocacy groups, we all managed to put on a great ride. Over 100 cyclists took part in a 50 mile road ride and 2 spectacular Rail Trail rides that linked up the Hurley/O&W trail with the Wallkill Valley trail. We also got a great tour of the O+ Artist Murals and a tantalizing preview of the Kingston Greenline.
We were pretty tired after staying up late to see the amazing bands, then out driving around to mark out the routes and up early to help with registration, and guide the rides, but it was totally worth it! And we look forward to doing it again next year.
The following Sunday, we hosted our second annual Fall Foliage Road Ride and BBQ.
It was a cold, blustery day, but that didn't stop a few dozen riders on every kind of bike and from all age groups from getting out there and putting down 18 or 23 miles through the Town of Saugerties or a scenic photo tour of 5 miles around the Village.
The BBQ back at the shop was a hit. Samantha put out a big spread of fall veggies that even the kids ate, plus plenty of burgers and dogs, chocolate cake, and cheap beer. Spirits were high as everyone came back and shared their stories about the ride. It was so satisfying for us to see how much joy our bikes have brought to so many people. We will definitely do this again next year and every year. So put us on your Calendar for October, 2015!
